A Taste for Murder - The TV Series
Matt Baker’s latest TV project is A Taste For Murder, an original six-part crime procedural adapted from his debut novel. It follows British detective Joe Mottram (Warren Brown) as he tries to rebuild his relationship with his daughter Angelica (Beau Gadsdon) after the death of his wife, on what should be a restorative trip to the Italian island of Capri.

But when they stay with Angelica’s grieving grandparents, who run a busy island taverna, Joe is pulled into a murder investigation that threatens the fragile family bond he’s fighting to repair. The series also stars BAFTA-winner Phyllis Logan and Cristiana Dell’Anna. It is being produced by Eagle Eye Drama in association with Drugiplan, funded by BritBox and ITV Studios - premiering on BritBox on 7th April.

A Taste for Murder - The Novel
A Taste For Murder is Matt Baker’s debut novel — a sun-drenched mystery set on an Italian holiday island where family loyalties run deep and secrets don’t stay buried for long. At its heart is British detective Joe Mottram, still reeling from loss and trying to reconnect with his daughter Angelica in the one place that should feel safe: her mother’s family home.

But when a murder shatters the fragile calm, the island’s close-knit community becomes a pressure cooker of suspicion, grief and old resentments. With Joe caught between the pull of an investigation and the family he’s desperate to hold together, the novel blends twisty whodunnit momentum with an emotional story about parenting, belonging and second chances.
